I notice with women my age, especially in the business world, they are constantly feeling the pressure of not only looking a certain way but having a certain level of success, productivity, and ultimately, having it all together! This can wear on our confidence and dim our light a little bit...but it doesn't need to be permanent!
This blog post idea came to me when I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw these other business women killing the game as I sat on my couch in my comfy clothes, having an off day. I felt bad about myself, I was comparing myself to these women and how I should be doing more! Now, to some that may be more motivating than detrimental but to me, my self confidence was dwindling by the minute. I believe we are all capable of being our best selves but I don't think we should EVER compare ourselves to other people because not everyone's journey is the same!
So, how did I get out of my funk and move forward from my declining self confidence?
Try these steps:
1) Write down how you're feeling
Get a journal, write down your negative thoughts and CROSS THEM OUT! Then write down 5 things you love about yourself!
2) Say your affirmations
Find 1 or 2 sayings that you can say when you're feeling bad about yourself. Say them until you feel better. Post them everywhere so you so can see them always!
3) Do something you love / are good at
Everyone has something they're good at and that they love. Do those things more, your confidence will skyrocket!
4) Hang out with positive people
The people you are around all the time can effect you! Find positive people that have great self confidence and learn from them! Kick negative people to the curb!
5) Keep yourself healthy
Make sure you are exercising and eating a healthy diet! If you look good, you feel good!
