If you are a business owner, you know all the struggles and triumphs that come along with owning your own company. Besides the budgets, issues with employees and maintaining a great reputation in the community - there are other things we need to stop worrying about and STOP doing!
The reason why I am writing about this is because I, myself have experienced it and I have realized over time how draining it can be if you don't learn to make the proper changes! I have also experienced other people doing it and I can tell how it effects them negatively.
Alright, alright, I'll cut to the chase:
1) STOP comparing yourself to others
THIS IS HUGE! I have seen it and I have done it myself - it is a waste of time. You can admire people and have goals to better yourself BUT you have to remember that everyone's journey and lifestyle is different. You don't have to have the same process as someone else, focus in on what you are doing and how YOU can make it better. Be unique and be yourself - that is what makes a business memorable.
2) STOP feeling guilty
I have been known to do this a lot and it is something I have to work on every day. Just because you have a slow day or month, doesn't mean you are failing. If you're not up until 3am working on projects and going on endless meetings - that does not equal failure! As long as your work is done and you are keeping your current clients, that's the most important. Enjoy that slow day, use it to tackle other small projects you never have time for!
3) STOP taking on any and every project that comes your way
You may feel like you have to take on EVERY opportunity given but it is not always in your best interest! If you get 5 different projects, pick the top 2 or 3 that mean the most to you and your business. Money is always an important factor but is the money worth the time spent? Will it take away time from your top priority projects? These are all things to consider!
So, friends, I am begging you, STOP doing these things! When you are able to accept yourself and your personal journey, you will be able to accomplish big things! Let's work together to lift each other up and help one another grow from the inside out! That is my goal at the end of all of this, to be that go-to for all business owners!
