If you know me at all, you know I am obsessed with makeup and skin care products! Ever since I worked for a makeup company in Miami, I have become very particular about what I put of my face. To give you kind of a background on my skin, I have combination skin with mild acne and some scarring. Something that has haunted me most of my teenage to young adult years. I am always on the hunt for DIY tricks and any natural/organic products that wont be too harsh or drying. So now that you understand the canvas I’m working with, here are my top favorites & why:
1) Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation-
Why: This is an oil-free, matte finish formula. Great for blemished skin. Goes on light and doesn’t clog pores. Spray on damp beauty blender for airbrushed look.
2) Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer
Why: Had a good amount of shimmer but doesn’t make you look oily. Great for contouring. Doesn’t make you look orange or dirty! I use an angled brush for this and contour my cheek bones, jawline, forehead and sides of my nose.
3) Mehron Celebre HD Pro Mineral Finishing Powder in Saffron
Why: This banana powder is great for baking your highlight. Every skin tone differs when it comes to this but this is great for light to medium skin tones. I love how it makes my features pop! Use a medium density brush for this and swipe it from the ear down to right before the chin, on the ball of your chin, under the eyes (in a v shape) and in between your brows up to the middle of your forehead (also in a v shape). The after a few minutes of baking, use large poofy brush to buffer off.
4) Trust Fund Beauty Gimme Good Face Primer
Why: I got a sample of this in my Ipsy subscription bag a while back and I absolutely love it! Its not greasy or oily, gives you a great matte finish before putting on your makeup. Never made me breakout or anything! Use a small amount and rub on your skin, mainly in your T zone area.
5) Origins Original Skin Retexturing Mask with Rose Clay
Why: This little pink mask works wonders when trying to exfoliate and brighten your dull skin. Its a clay texture with small beads in it. I use this 2 times a week when I need a little boost. PLUS its natural!
6) Last, but not least, Modicum Essential Serum
Why: Before bed, I use this serum all over my face and neck. It cams redness and brightens. Also a great moisturizer! Not too oily and doesn’t clog my pores! Wake up with a soft, supple face!
A boss lady needs her beauty products to bring out her inner fierce-ness! Take care of your skin and your confidence will skyrocket! You want to feel great in your skin so when you take that important meeting or go on a photo shoot, you will be more than ready to show them what you got!
