I had a major epiphany the other day during my daily workout and it was something that really struck a cord with me.
I realized, in my life, I have always settled for average and was never really spectacular in any of my hobbies or jobs. Now, don’t get me wrong, I work hard but I feel like I could of always gone a step further to bring my performance to the next level.
So, I thought to myself, I’m tired of being average and blending in with the crowd. I want to stand out, get my name out there and be known for my hard working, yet, creative work! I know I can’t be the only one who has been through this! These are my tips to you during the so-called quarter life crisis:
1) Continuously be a student: I know I always say this but I firmly believe in adding skills and reading up on different topics to up yourself from the competition. If you’re teachable and willing to learn, employers will value that. And if you have your own business, this will allow you room to grow as a professional and on a personal level.
2) Remember the Hustle: Every business needs it’s hustlers, the people who have the drive and determination to bring that company to the next level through endless knowledge and confidence. Don’t forget why you started and what your goals are because that is what keeps your inner fire burning.
3) Love what you do: Money is great but when a job or career gives you that light, that happiness, that no one can take away from you; It’s all sorts of magical. Be passionate every day and enjoy what you do because in the end it will make your business thrive.
All in all, I plan to dive into some new books, read some awesome PR blogs and maybe even build my own girl power, millennial entreprenuer group in my area; time for spring clean up of the mind and soul! Make time for these things to get yourself out of your funk and I’m sure you’ll be building your boss lady empire in no time!
