Are you in a rut? Feel like you're stuck in one place and can't take that next step? I can relate! Sometimes you get in these funks and aren't sure how to get out of it but that doesn't mean it isn't possible! Recently, I have gone through the roller coaster ride, that is, being a business owner and it sometimes puts a snag in your plans. You can't let these bumps in the road ruin your shine!
Here are a few ways to get the creative juices going:
1) Keep a Handy-Dandy Notebook - This is self explanatory but definitely effective. Write down your thoughts whether they are good or bad, write it out! What are your goals for the week? month? year? What are your wild ideas or passion projects? When you write it down, you are able to visualize what is really important and organize your thoughts! Keep it with you wherever you go so whenever a thought, concern or question comes to mind, you can write it down right then and there.
2) Create a dream jar - I read this tip in the book I am currently reading, She Means Business by Carrie Green. Grab a cute mason jar, rip up pieces of paper and write down your dreams/goals, long term and short term. Once you have used up all your pieces of paper, fold them up and put them in the jar. Every week take out one paper and focus on that goal for the week. It may be a long term goal that needs to be started or a short term goal that can be completed by the end of week. This will allow you to focus on one thing at a time and check it off your list. Add to the jar as you go!
3) Make a vision board - Grab a cork board from the Dollar Store, your favorite magazines, a computer with a printer, scissors and thumb tacks - its time to get crafty! Use this board to remind you of your dreams and things that make you feel happy. Make it embody what you inspire to be! Cut out photos of office inspo, quotes, color schemes, women that inspire you, etc.
Now that I have given you three challenges to try...GO DO IT! Open your mind and soul to new and exciting ideas! Tell me your thoughts on these and if you have any other creativity challenges to share!
